does anybody know of a device that will convert a pentax screwmount 200mm lens in to a spotting scope?

i think vivitar sold such a device several years ago.

Does anyone know anything about spotting scopes and can you recommend one?

I am wanting to get a telescope or spotting scope for my dad for fathers day. He would be using it to view wildlife around his lake house. Is a spotting scope what i need or is a telescope better for this purpose? He currently has an old cheap set of binoculars that he uses. [...]
