A tele converter or a spotting scope?

I am thinking of buying a tele converter for my FZ18 but when I saw a price of a spotting scope, I am not sure which one to buy.

The price of a 2x tele converter and a 20x-60x spotting scope is not much different.

I like to take a photo of a moon and far objects. Is a spotting scope good for taking photos of a moon?

Please suggest me which one I should buy.

Thank you.
More: The scope does not have a camera. I have to buy an adapter to mount my camera to it.

Another question is, is the lighting process from the tele converter and the spotting scope different? I noticed that there are 2 lenses in both of the equipments.

i’d suggest getting the 2x converter, that’d give you 36x optical zoom, and u have a 4x digital zoom so u’ll be doing pretty good, just make sure you have a tripod and set up or settings for Spot metering and drop the EV comp down to -1/3

usually that’ll give a good detailed pic

The spotting scope has a camera attached to it?

    Moon shots.

The exposure needed to shoot the moon is the same as the one you would use to shoot in bright sun … the sunny 16 rule. 1/ISO at f/16. You will also need to manually set the focus to infinity.
